An NYC classic, and completely cheesy, but rather fabulous all the same. I loved the whole thing - the wonderful view, the piano tinkling away, the flowers everywhere and the 'special occasion-ness' of it all. The food is good in a frou-frou old-school kind of way, but then the food's not really the point. We rather incongruously took baby Victory who crashed out luxuriously on a banquette and seemed to enjoy it as much as we did.

It's has one of the best views of New York and this makes it worth the short subway ride across the river. Its not cool or trendy but the food is good if not spectacular, the service is excellent and did I mention the view. Not a cheap date but worth it.
