The home of Guruji the Guru of Ashtanga yoga, sadly no longer with us but his Shala is now run by his grandson Sharath who is loved and respected in his own right. Go for a month or maybe 6. It's a great place to hang out and develop your practice and much more civilised than many people's picture of India. You need to check if Sharath is around as he is often away on tour.
